The past decade has seen an explosion in the popularity of pistol mounted optics, with new manufacturers offering more reliable and durable miniaturized red dot sights that can sustain the abuse of a reciprocating slide. As known by the competitive shooters who have utilized these optics for decades, they offer shooters with a number of significant advantages over iron-sighted pistols. That said, most shooters new to using a pistol mounted optic will find there is a learning curve to navigate, specifically related to the presentation and “finding” or “tracking” their dot.
This 8-hour course is designed to help students who are proficient iron-sighted handgun shooters successfully transition to utilizing a pistol with a slide-mounted optic, understanding the differences and skills required to use a dot effectively.
