INSTRUCTOR: Critical Impact Group (Adrian Alan) - Instructor Bios

Cold weather environments can wreak havoc on both equipment and personnel. Without cold-weather specific maintenance and proper care in the field, rifles, optics, ammunition and other critical support gear can experience reliability issues or even complete failure in a short amount of time. Shooter performance can be affected by cold temperatures as well, and serious injuries can even occur due to frostbite or hypothermia.

This specialized class from Critical Impact Group (offered exclusively through Rapid Defense) is designed to teach shooters who are already proficient with the fundamentals of precision / long-range shooting, to maintain their capabilities in these challenging conditions. This course also offers the opportunity to test cold-weather gear and clothing in a safe environment. The lessons from this class are applicable to cold weather hunters, military and law enforcement personnel, and private citizens who are simply looking to take advantage of empty winter ranges or increase their overall preparedness to handle cold-weather environments.

Students should be prepared to spend most of the day outside in extreme cold weather conditions with the potential for heavy snow, ice or freezing rain. Students should expect to perform moderate-levels of physical activity such as carrying all of their gear several hundred yards across the range through accumulated snow, shoveling small amounts of snow to build shooting positions, and so forth.

Because preparation is the most critical element of success in these conditions, students will have access to online training modules on gear selection, weapon maintenance, clothing, and other topics approximately two weeks prior to the start of class to help them prepare for a successful day on the range.

This class runs regardless of weather conditions, unless roads are impassable.
