The Introduction to Defensive Rifle training class is a one day class split 30% in the classroom and 70% on the range. This class is ideal for shooters new to the carbine platform (AR15), but experienced shooters might also appreciate revisiting the fundamentals. If you've never taken a formal class before, this is a good place to start and will identify bad habits. We explain everything, demonstrate it, and then walk you through both dry fire and live fire training techniques.
The class touches on firearms safety, storage, selection, and legal issues before hitting the range for crawl-walk-run shooting instruction. Students will learn zeroing and basic marksmanship fundamentals before progressing into proper presentation, correcting malfunctions, and reloading. We also cover how to shoot multiple rounds and positional shooting. We will use coaching, debriefs, and video to ensure you are properly developing the skill sets necessary to be a responsibly armed citizen.
